Used car dealers on the other hand have certain standards and business practices they have to follow. When they take a car in for trade it has to pass a detailed check list. They generally wont take in a car for sale that they cant re-sell quickly. They dont need to have unsold cars just parked on the lot because this is a way to lose money. Used car dealers dont want to lose money. They also dont want to have that clunker waiting for a buyer. They want to have decent cars available to sell to you, preferably one that you can drive for a while.
